I have been reading Rheingold since the 80's and he almost always hits the nail on the head. The focus on human use of technology is a theme that runs through his work. The integration of many of his ideas is in this book. The 5 Digital Literacies balance the inner and the outer person vis-a-vis tech. Written in his accessible folksy style, with lots of illustrating stories, it was a fun read on an important topic.I am using this as a textbook for my class at the University of Tokyo this semester. I have highlighted the Kindle version, and get the students to use those highlights to get a handle on the topics. Mr. Rheingold even shared his Stanford curriculum for his course so I could adapt it.
